Come to nature Ė get away from the crowds
Bonniedale Holiday Farm is a 1650 ha natural fynbos farm situated in the
Outeniqua Mountains, and is approximately 54 km from Mossel Bay and 72 km
from Oudtshoorn. The 14 000 ha Attaquas Nature Reserve surrounds the farm
and the lionís share of the farm is natural mountain fynbos. Bonniedale is
part of the 50 000 ha Attaquaskloof conservancy which will form part of
the proposed Gouritz Mega Park.
The accommodation in the 1890 Cape Dutch thatch roofed farmhouse
consists of three double bedrooms with private bathrooms Ė one of
these bedrooms is a family room with a double bed and a double bunk bed.
Two of the bedrooms lead out onto their own veranda. There is a lapa
alongside the farmhouse for socializing around an open fire.
All meals can be provided, or guests can choose the self-catering option.
There is a large chalet with four en-suite bedrooms and open plan lounge,
pub, kitchen and dining room. In the center of this chalet is an open
fireplace for cooking and socializing. In front of the chalet is a swimming
pool and kiddies pool. Guests can bring their own bedding or bedding can be
provided. This chalet can accommodate up to 14 persons and the kitchen is
fully equipped for self-caterers.
There are three fully equipped caravans with underroof balconies and have their own ablutions, braaiplaces, hammocks and tables/seating.
There are two large tents with bunk beds (sleeps 24), a communal kitchen tent with gas stove, gasburners, fridge & deepfreeze, undercover lapa, five smaller tents with beds which can accommodate another 18 persons. Each of these tents have their own private braai place, hammock and table/seating.
The main campsite with hot and cold ablutions and undercover lapaís is situated
approximately 400m from the main house in the Kamma river and can accommodate
large groups of campers. Each individual campsite has shade and grass and each
site has itís own private braai place, tables and chairs. Firewood can be purchased at the farmhouse.
There is a volleyball court and swimming pool at the main campsite. This
campsite was rated as one of the top ten campsites in Africa by Drive Out
4x4 magazine. There are also two bush camps in the mountains but these can
only be reached by 4x4 or on horseback. There's a new campsite alongside the
dam and a secluded site along the Kamma river. Rock pools. Private camp has private ablutions, solar lighting, underroof table/seating and bush bath/jacuzzi which is heated by donkey.
